1. Relining of Suspended Roof for Walking beam furnace with prefabricated blocks

• Suspended roof over preheating zone of the 300t/hr Walking beam furnace #1 at HOT Strip Mill (HSM) was installed in 2003
• The remaining suspended roof of the 300t/hr Walking beam furnace #1,including the Bull Nose was completed in 2004
• For the 300t/hr Walking beam furnace #2 at HSM, the Suspended roof over the Preheating zone area was installed in 2005
• Remaining part of roof of the 300t/hr Walking beam furnace #2, including the Bull nose was completed in May 2006

The scope of the job includes:

• Design
• Supply of sandwich roof blocks, Burner blocks & Bull nose
• Supervision during installation.

2. Blast Furnace

• During the last five years, we have done lining with gunning materials at hot air pipes like Up-take, Off-take, Cone liner etc. in almost all the Blast furnaces at Tata Steel.
• During upgradation of "F" and "G" Blast furnaces at TATA, we have supplied all the gunning materials require for the insulation of Hot air pipes, top cone etc.

3. Coke Oven Doors

The coke oven prefabricated door plug is one of the most popular item in the range of our products. These door plugs are in operation at various Coke-oven Plants in Europe for saveral years.
• At Tata Steel we have supplied 10 doors with prefabricated blocks (five for Coke side and five for Pusher side) on trial basis in the year 2003. Till June 2008 - for five years - these door plugs are in operation without any maintenance.
• Based on the a.m. suuceeessful trial, Tata Steel has awrded us the annual rate contract for Coke-oven doors plugs in year 2008 for running maintanece of the coke oven doors.

4. Skid Insulation for Walking beam furnace with prefabricated blocks

• We got the first trial order from Tata Steel, for two Fixed and two Moving beams for 300t/hr. walking beam furnace #2 at HSM, in the year 2003
• In 2004 Tata Steel placed the repeat order to complete the insulation for all the skids and stands at the Soaking zone area of Walking beam furnace #2 with prefabricated blocks of FBB.
• In May 2006 rest of the skids and posts of heating and preheating zones has been insulated to complete the insulation of all the skids and posts of the Walking beam furnace #2 with prefabricated blocks from FBB.
• In May 2008, based on maintanence free long life of skid insulation of the Walking beam furnace #2, Tata Steel has given order to FBB for complete skid pipe insulation of 300t/hr Walking beam furnace #1 to replace the existing insulation.

5. Lintel Insulation

• We have designed, fabricated and installed the blocks to protect the bottom part of the water cooled pipes at Charging & Discharging Lintel for both 300t/hr. W/beam furnaces, at HSM in Tata Steel in 2003. Till date no maintenance was required for these Lintels.

FBB Engineering

• From M/S USHA Martin, Jamshedpur, we received the order for the skid insulation at complete soaking zone area in their 65t/hr Walking beam furnace at Wire and Rod mill in the year 2001.
• In the year 2003, we got the repeat order from M/S USHA Martin for the heating zone of the same furnace.
• We have received order to insulate rest of the skids for the same furnace in year 2006.
• After 7 years of service life of skids insulation with prefabricated blocks from FBB Engineering at their above mentioned 65t/hr W/B furnace at Wire and Rod mill, Usha Martin has decided to replace the Skid pipes at the soaking zone of the furnace in 2nd half of 2008. A repeat order was placed on on FBB for the insulation of new skid pipes with prefabricated blocks.
• Usha Martin is commissioning another 55t/hr W/B furnace in 2008. For which they have placed an order on FBB for insulating the complete furnace skids and posts with Prefabricated Skid pipe insulation blocks.

M/s Beck u. Kaltheuner

• In April 2006 the installation of roof at the soaking zone area is done with prefabricated roof blocks from Beck u. Kaltheuner for 250t/hr walking beam furnace no. 1 in JSW Steel Ltd.

FBB Engineering

• During the same shutdown the skids in soaking zone area at 250t/hr walking beam furnace no. 1 are insulated with prefabricated blocks from FBB Engineering.

• Kalyani Carpenters Special Steels Ltd., Pune, has replaced the skid castables by prefabricated insulation blocks in complete soaking zone and heating zone of their 35t/hr Walking beam furnace during November 2006.

• Lloyds Steel has replaced the old skid insulation with castables at heating & Soaking zone for their 150t/hr Walking beam furnace at Wardha plant by FBB system of pre fabricated blocks in July 2007.

• Adhunik Metaliks insulated the soaking zone and heating zone of their new walking beam furnace at Rourkela plant in year 2007.
